('pwd' is short for 'Print Working Directory'). 3.Since we want to change our focus to a different directory type this: cd Library/Spelling and hit enter. 4.This moves us over to the secret folder that contains the file ' LocalDictionary' that we need to edit. 5.Type this: pico LocalDictionary and hit enter There are a couple of editor programs that are already baked into the OS-X Terminal environment.

The one that I think is the easiest to use in a jiffy is called 'pico' - the above command uses pico to open that LocalDictionary file. The screen has now changed and now it's time to EDIT the actual User Dictionary. You can use your arrow keys to get around and enter to make new lines. Make each new word on a new line. When you are finished, it is time to exit the pico editor.
